The Melbourne hailstorm does appear to be unprecedented for Victoria in delivering gorilla sized hailstones. Hailstones up to 10cm diameter were reported by a Bureau observer south east of the CBD. Michael, Interesting to see tropical cyclone Hamish intensify so rapidly overnight particularly in the early hours of the morning. The question is will it impact the Queensland coast as a severe tropical cyclone or remain parallel and slowly weaken as it moves south southeast.
